Dear AIMagn members,
here is the 3rd issue of the AIMagn newsletter for the year 2024, with information on workshops and symposia organized by our members and a couple of requests for expressions of interest. We apologize for missing the March issue.
Social AIMagn
- We are on LinkedIn! https://www.linkedin.com/company/aimagn/
On our page, you can find the latest news concerning open positions, events organized by the Association or by our members. Follow us on LinkedIn!
Request for expressions of interest
- The next National Conference on Magnetism, Magnet2026, awaits someone to organize it! Any member of the Association interested in organizing the 9th Conference of this lively series is kindly requested to send a few slides to segreteria@aimagn.org presenting the possible Venue of the Congress, costs and presumed registration fees, as well as a tentative date.
- The current Board of AIMagn will expire at the end of this year, and none of its members can be re-elected. Anyone willing to be elected to the next Board is kindly requested to start thinking about it. The elections will take place at the end of the year, most likely coupled with an event organized by the Association such as a colloquium, to stimulate the participation of the members.
ICM2024 – Late Poster Submission
If you missed the call for abstracts, you can still present your work at ICM2024 (Bologna, June 30th – July 5th). Go to http://www.icm2024.org and follow the guidance on the Authors page to submit a late poster. Late submission applies only to posters (oral contributions are not accepted anymore). Late submissions are eligible for the poster prize if the requirements are met. Deadline: May 8th, 2024.
Workshops and Symposia
- SpinCom2024, a satellite event of ICM2024 will be held at Politecnico di Milano on Friday, June 28th, 2024, just before the beginning of ICM. The workshop brings together scientists at the forefront of magnetism and spintronics, focusing on the exciting challenges of computing and signal processing. On the website of SpinCom2024 the titles of talks from invited speakers are now available, together with the book of abstracts. The deadline for the registration (100€ fee including social dinner and visit to the Last Supper by Leonardo da Vinci) is May 15th, 2024.
- ICM2024 announced the first Focus Symposia, special sessions based on Invited talks and reflecting the hottest topics proposed by the magnetism community.
- Altermagnetism (Chairs: Ryotaro Arita – University of Tokyo, Jairo Sinova – Johannes Gutenberg Universität, Igor Mazin – George Mason University)
